We’ve all heard the saying a million times about college recruiting. In the age of NILs and transfer portals, recruiting the best talent into schools remains the best and most consistent path to success.
Sure, you can build teams through transfer portals, like Michigan State tried, but it’s volatile. will generally not leave a team unless there are better players than them.
With the internal dynamics of the sport all changing, how can teams stay ahead of the curve when it comes to recruiting? moneyNIL Deal, Collective, Bag Men. Money is king, right? While that may be the case, one of the biggest factors in his NFL development remains the high-end he’s been hearing since 7th grade.
Can you take five-star athletes and turn them into the first-round picks they’ve always been told they should be? Can you take the 3 stars you didn’t give and make him a draft pick? If so, NFL > NIL.

Georgia can catch up in a hurry. The Bulldogs have signed four of his five stars in the 2020 class: Kelly Ringo, Broderick Jones, Jalen Carter and Darnell Washington. All four have earned his first-round results.
Since Smart’s arrival, Georgia’s NFL production trajectory has skyrocketed and continues to climb. We all know about Georgia’s historic run in the 2022 NFL Draft, but looking back over the last few decades, Athens’ transformation has been truly incredible.
Georgia has won more first-round picks in the past three years than it did in the entire 1990s. Amazing.
In the new era of college football, Kirby Smart and Georgia can rely on perhaps the strongest recruiting pitch. If he comes to Georgia, he could very well end up in the NFL. A fully guaranteed contract hit is slightly different than a NIL deal.
