New York Yankees news: Brad Wilkerson hired as assistant hitting coach

The Yankees increased their hitting resources by hiring Wilkerson, who played for four MLB teams over eight seasons from 2001-2008. Wilkerson left the Yankees this offseason to become the Colorado Rockies’ hitting coach, and is expected to slip into the role vacated by Hensley Mullens, who spoke with us about Aaron Judge’s success last season. .

For the past three years, Wilkerson has worked as an assistant coach and recruitment coordinator at Jacksonville University.

MLB News: Darren O’Day announces retirement

After 15 seasons in the MLB, relief pitcher Darren O’Day announced on social media that he is leaving the game.

O’Day has suited six different teams in his career, including last season when he appeared in 28 games for the Atlanta Braves. He left career with his 2.59 ERA/3.48 FIP/1.034 WHIP in his 609.0 innings in 644 games.

Tampa Bay Rays News: Tropicana Field Area Redevelopment Plans

Tropicana Field and the surrounding area will reportedly undergo major renovations in the coming months to keep the Rays in St. Petersburg.

On Monday, St. Petersburg Mayor Ken Welch announced plans for a new stadium for the Rays as part of an 86-acre reconstruction. The new ballpark is expected to open in time for the 2028 season, according to reports.

Cleveland Guardians News: Say goodbye to icons

The famous drums that have been a part of Cleveland baseball for decades have gone quiet.
