Gamers can dress their teams in the latest gear for mobile gaming by searching for real-world drops from a variety of clothing brands. Players will also be able to show off their team, interact with in-game friends, and participate in one-on-one tournaments to earn exclusive in-game items, according to the NBA.

Adrienne O’Keeffe, the NBA’s vice president of global partnerships, said the league and Niantic began discussing collaboration about five years ago, shortly after the launch of Pokémon GO in 2016, according to Niantic.
