The Brooklyn Nets played the Boston Celtics for the second time of the season on Thursday, losing 109-98. Boston is currently leading his series in the regular season with him 2–0.

For the Nets, Kyrie Irving had 24 points and six assists and TJ Warren had 20 points as a substitute. Joe Harris scored 18 and Lois O’Neal scored 11.

For the Celtics, Jayson Tatum had 20 points and 11 rebounds and Marcus Smart had 16 points and 10 assists. Malcolm Brogdon had 16 points off the bench and Derrick White had 15.

The game was competitive throughout the first three quarters. With Kevin Durant and Jaylen Brown missing, neither team had as much firepower as would normally be expected. Brooklyn did a good job defending Tatum and Irving didn’t have his most efficient shooter.

The game turned into a blast in the fourth quarter as Boston went on the offensive and Brooklyn couldn’t keep up without Durant on the court, despite Tatum’s night of tough shooting. The Celtics rebounded the Nets to his 48-31 lead in this game, giving Boston many of his second possessions and finally winning Brooklyn the best.

Here’s how NBA Twitter reacted to the Nets’ disappointing loss.
