Today’s Top Players:
LeBron James’ 35-point performance against the 76ers tied Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the only player to score 38,000 points. He officially crossed the mark midway through the first quarter with 16 points, and although the Lakers didn’t come away with a win, James is closing the gap on Abdul to his Jabbar’s all-time leading scorer.
others:
– Terrance Mann shone with the Los Angeles Clippers with a season-high 31 points against the Houston Rockets. With his guard John Wall out with an injury, the Clippers backcourt would need more production like this in his absence.
– Nikola Jokic’s 12th triple-double of the season continues his third straight MVP challenge. Jokic scored 17 points, 10 rebounds and 14 assists against his Magic against Orlando and he scored his winning 3-pointer with less than 1.5 seconds remaining. Denver his Nuggets are undefeated when Jokic hits a triple-double.
– The Chicago Bulls have ended an 11-game losing streak against the Golden State Warriors behind Nikola Vucevic’s career-high 43 points. Vucevic added 13 rebounds, four assists and four steals to his career performance.
Julius Randle’s season-high 42 points gave the Knicks their 11th straight win over the Detroit Pistons. Randle added 15 rebounds, becoming the first Nick since Patrick Ewing (January 19, 1996) to have at least 40 points and 15 rebounds.
