Why Magic Can Cover Spreads

Despite Orlando’s place on the Eastern Conference ladder, the Magic are certainly fine enough to cover as a road underdog. They may struggle offensively, but they are a solid rebounding team (14th in RPG) and do an excellent job getting to the free throw line (free throws made per game 4th in free throw attempts and 8th in free throw attempts). Sacramento is one of the most interesting teams in the league, but he’s been a little off in recent games.

If Orlando covers, rookie prodigy Paolo Banchero will have to replicate his previous performance against the Kings. and had 16 rebounds. He may not drop 30 and 15 again, but his season averages also support a strong night. For the season, Banchero led all rookies with 21.4 points per game, 6.7 rebounds per game and he also contributed 3.9 assists.

If the game breaks down again, Orlando could be well positioned to come up with a backdoor cover thanks to a strong fourth quarter play. The Magic ranks fourth in the league in fourth quarter scoring (28.2 points). Why The Kings Can Cover The Spread

Despite their recent turbulent developments, the Kings remain one of the most exciting teams in the league. Sacramento features an elite offense that ranks him second in scoring (118.3 points per game) and seventh in haste points (15.4). Orlando’s defense is average (113.9 points allowed per game, but the 7th most haste points allowed per game (15). Sacramento controls the pace of the game and the snail-paced Magic This can get out if you can speed up the .

For that, the Kings will need a big game from point guard De’Aaron Fox. The Foxes were incredible in their early-season win over the Magic. The speedy point guard scored 37 points (14 on 24 shots), including the game-winning jumper at the overtime buzzer. He may not fall anywhere near his 40 points again, but it’s certainly not out of the realm of possibility. Over the season, Fox averaged 24.2 points and 5.9 assists. As good as Fox has been this season, the biggest X-factor in ability to cover is big man Domantas Sabonis. Sabonis is averaging 12.5 rebounds (he’s No. 1 in the NBA) and he’s averaging 6.7 assists, making him one of the few big men to lead a team in both rebounds and assists. He’s no slouch as a scorer either, averaging 18.9 points on a 62.1% shooting percentage (ranking him eighth in the NBA).
