Beckley, West Virginia (WVNS) — As Major League Baseball makes its mark on the region, West Virginians are at bat.
The City of Beckley and Linda K. Epling Stadium have partnered with RCX Sports to join a group of nationwide venues to host the 2023 Pitch, Hit and Run, MLB Junior Home Run Derby competition on June 1, 2023.
Both events are free to attend and watch. Athletes ages 7 through her 14 can apply for Pitch Hit and Run. From age 12 until he is 16, he can bat in junior home run derbies in softball and baseball.
Kendrick Epling takes responsibility for bringing this event to our area and wants it to be one of the biggest.
“This is a huge opportunity for the community. We don’t usually have a lot of things like this. We usually have to travel. We know it has to be done, so it’s really exciting to have this come to our back door.
