Men’s high school soccer: Mabank’s shutout opens Palestine | Sports

Palestine – The Palestinian Wildcats held their own tournament with a 6-0 victory over the Mabank Panthers.

Tony Sanchez scored with an assist from Ty Kearns. Ian Garcia doubled his lead when he made the restart around the Panther wall and just inside the post. The Cats took a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Tony Sanchez added one more to the tally to start the second half with the help of fellow freshman Sebastian Hernandez. Carnes scored his own goal with the help of Sanchez. Ian Garcia scored on another restart that went through the hands of the keeper and into the back of the net. Andy Garcia scored from his second assist for Sanchez.

Justus Musil secured a clean sheet with the help of defenders Juan Lopez, Ricoh Avila, David Arredondo, Hernandez, Christian Parker and Colt James.

In the second game of the night, the Wildcats faced the Lindale Eagles in a 0-0 draw.

It was the fifth consecutive clean sheet for the Wildcats. Freshman Justus Musir was between the pipes, aided by the defensive efforts of Sebastian Ledesma, Colt James, Ricoh Avila, Juan Lopez, Diego Oliva and David Arredondo.

The Cats will play two more games on Friday against two teams ranked in preseason status: the Mexia Blackcats and the Sulfur Springs Wildcats.
