Malibu, California – Despite a career-high 18 points Carson Basham The Pepperdine men’s basketball team lost Thursday night, 87-78, to San Diego.
It was the fourth time Pepperdine (7-15, 0-8 WCC) finished with fewer turnovers than their opponents, but they fell. Waves made just 11 mistakes compared to Torreros’ 18 (10-12, WCC 3-5).

Out of the gate, Waves struggled to decipher San Diego’s zone defense that spurred Torreros’ 16-0 lead, but after Mitchell Jr.’s 3 and a pairing with Lewis, Pepperdine scored at halfway point.
