Northfield, Vermont – Regis College broke the half-time tie to beat the Norwich University men’s basketball team to escape Andrews Hall. Cadets dropped his 67-65 Thriller to Pride at Thursday night’s Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.

Pride opened the contest with back-to-back baskets from Russell Lau to give the Regis the lead until an 11-0 run from Cadet turned the 3-point Pride lead into an 8-point Norwich edge. After heading into the locker room at 36 All Deadlock, the Pride came out of the gate to take the lead over the next 17 minutes of play before moving to the Charity Stripes. Naviyu Ndiaye (Barcelona, Spain) tied again at 60-60. At the 2:06 mark Zakaria Latifi’s crucial go-ahead his Trey sealed the deal after a freebie pair from Rhys gave Cadet a final advantage.
A personal 4-0 run from Justin Evelyn pushed the Pride’s lead to 5 and looked to icing the game. colby murray (Fairhaven, Vermont) Deployed a long-range bomb to bring Regis’ edge back to 2. A subsequent turnover in the Regis freebie would give Cadet one last chance, but a solid defense in a closing performance gave Pride a two-point victory.
Lau led Regis with 31 points, while Devante Thompson and Evelyn scored 13 and 10 respectively.
The Cadets will wrap up the week with a major GNAC competition against Rivier University on Saturday, January 28th. Tips are scheduled for 1:00 pm.
