The Chicago White Sox didn’t get a good season out of Lucas Jolito in 2022. He wasn’t as bad as a “bad pitcher,” but he didn’t have a good season at all by his standards. 500 batting average in his Sox season, and Joliet’s struggles were a big part of it.
This was surprising because Jolito was the top 10 pitcher in the American League in 2019, 2020 and 2021. As a result, he deserves his chance to come back in 2023. He doesn’t make sense unless he gives him a chance. He may reward them with many rewards.
Jolit no longer has to be an ace either. Dylan Cease has taken on the role, with Lance Lynn and Michael Kopech each also capable of dominating the game. They expect both Giolito and Mike Clevinger to return this year and form a great rotation overall.
Jolito appeared on MLB Network this week to speak on a variety of topics. He talked about the challenges of the offseason, how things will change in 2023, the addition of Andrew Benintendi, conversations with Pedro Grifol, and more.
Lucas Giolito is focused on 2023 💪

The most interesting thing he talked about was apparently his offseason and planning to prepare for spring training. I did. There will be no problems this year.
He also touched on the changeup. He knows he has the best changeup in baseball when he’s on, but he has to get back to that level. His changeup has decreased in terms of usage last year and he wants to change that this year.
The White Sox have several new signings this year. Hopefully, we can all use that energy for spring training.
Lucas Jolit is a pitcher with a very good attitude to things. I know he had a rough last year, but instead of feeling sorry for himself, he’s just trying to get better, so expect him to get back into form this year.
Next. The White Sox should consider trading Max Fried.dark
