Kareem Abdul-Jabbar would rather enjoy the coming weeks as the all-time leading scorer in NBA history as LeBron James approaches his record game after game. James, who scored 23 points in the Lakers’ game against the Grizzlies on Friday, is already the second player in his career to break the 38,000 career points barrier, but now he’s 261 points behind him. It is 261 points behind.

Here’s where to find LeBron’s quest.

James is averaging 29.5 points per game for the season. If James doesn’t miss a game in the meantime, his record will be on Feb. 7 at home against the Oklahoma City Thunder if the pace holds up.

The Lakers will host the Bucks on February 9 and travel to face the Warriors on February 11. This could be a record date if LeBron gets a game in his next three weeks.

  • LeBron’s last 3 games: 23 vs. Memphis, 32 vs. Sacramento. 48 vs Houston
  • LeBron’s next three games. Portland (January 22nd). vs. Clippers (Jan. 24). vs. San Antonio (January 25)

“I’m looking forward to seeing that happen. I don’t think of the record as a personal achievement, but as a human achievement.” adbul jabbar said Ahead of the 2021-22 season on LeBron’s chances of breaking his record. “When one person can do what no one else has done, it means we can all try. It is a source of hope and inspiration. Not only 1,400 miles since then, the runner was beaten then, but the new record is 17 seconds shorter. When the record is broken, we all win. If LeBron breaks my record, I will be right there to cheer him on.”

This post will be updated after each game until LeBron becomes the all-time leading scorer.
