WBC Light Flyweight World Champion Kim Clavell will take on WBA Queen Jessica Nelly Prata on Friday, January 13 at the Place Bell in Laval, Canada. Clavell hopes to become the sport’s only Canadian-born unified world champion.

The match between Clavel-Plata and the undercard will be live-streamed exclusively on ESPN+ at 7:00 PM ET/4:00 PM PT.

Clavell (16-0, 3 KOs) received the Pat Tillman Service Award at the 2020 ESPY Awards after putting his boxing career on hold to return to nursing at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. She made her comeback in July 2020, shutting out Natalie Gonzalez over her eight rounds inside her bubble at the MGM Grand. Clavell seized her first world title opportunity by winning her WBC title last July. Clavell and Prata were scheduled to fight in December, but Clavell withdrew with the flu. Mexico City native Plata (28-2, 3 KOs) won her world title last March by defeating Argentina’s Yesica her bop in a split decision.
