A radio station that will broadcast St. Louis’ new Major League Soccer team has yet to be announced. Well, at least not officially.

Posted on job-search website indeed.com, presumably by the St. Louis City SC team, is a notice that applications are being made for the club’s radio play-by-play position. – FM 98.1, one of his seven stations on the St. Louis airwaves owned by Audacy. Self-proclaimed “Y98”.

The text states that the winner will be the voice of St. Louis City at all 2023 St. Louis City SC home and away games and will be broadcast through radio broadcast partner KYKY-FM’s Ordersy STL. One: the most accessible and dynamic way for clubs to interact with their fans — our beloved radio station becomes part of the team experience as a player on the pitch.”

The team will start its first season on February 25th in Austin, Texas.

The job posting states that the team will “connect with fans, educate the market about MLS and St. It plays a unique role in translating mentality and skill into the words and emotions of fans listening to radio and streaming video to enhance the fan experience and connection with the team.”

The post also states that salaries range from $38,700 to $49,100 and that the announcer will work under Courtney Mueller, the team’s “public engagement director.”

Other obligations of the announcer, according to the notice:

• Regular guest appearances on KYKY-FM and KMOX-AM, and appearances on various (other) Audacy STL stations.

• Develop a personal social media platform for your role.

• Participate in content creation across the STL CITY and Audacy STL Station platforms including social media, radio broadcasts, podcasts and streaming videos.

• Be able to participate in selected public speaking opportunities such as moderators, speeches, panels and radio talk shows.

• If interested, act as a voice for STL CITY in selected communities and special events.

• Work closely with Public Relations and Brand Strategy (Reps) to develop team and club messaging to help educate the St. Louis market about MLS, football and St. Louis City SC.
