James is averaging 27.8 points per game over 27 games and could overtake Abdul-Jabbar in the next 21 games.
James has done a lot in the NBAbut this might go down as the biggest.
Unfortunately, the Lakers aren’t having a great season, going 14-21 in 35 games and being the 13th seed in the Western Conference.
That said, the West is close enough that they are only 3.5 games behind the Golden State Warriors for the 10th seed (the final play-in tournament spot).
As for Tatum, he’s one of the best young stars in the NBA, leading the Celtics to the NBA Finals last season.
They are currently the best team in the NBA at 26-10 in 36 games, with Tatum averaging 31.0 points per game.
The Celtics will face the Lakers on January 28th in Boston, Massachusetts.
