If you’ve only played three games in five days, including the match against second-placed Stanford, you might just go home and be cured. Arizona Women’s Basketball hopes that will be the case when it hosts Oregon State University on Friday night.

Like Arizona, the Beavers underwent an even more dramatic change in the offseason. The player has left. A player has arrived. The OSU results are clearly mixed.

The Beavs have spent years in the top half of the conference standings. A Pac-12 game has followed him for three games, but there is some question as to whether that will be the case this season.

Overall, Oregon State is 9-5 against a demanding schedule. The Beavers faced No. 19 Duke, No. 16 Iowa, and No. 7 LSU before conference play began. They have already faced No. 18 Oregon and No. 12 UCLA in the Pac-12 competition.

It’s an impressive schedule, but with one big caveat. OSU has gone 1-4 in those games, and even his 77-72 victory over UCLA last weekend has an asterisk next to it.

OSU connects on just 28.8% of their 3-point shots. The last time the program’s 3-point shooting percentage fell below that was in 2012-13, when teams made between 3 and 28.5% of the time. 2009-10. If they don’t increase their percentages this season, it will be the fourth time.

Fortunately for the Beavers, freshman Reagan Beals has an effective inside threat. She is her second on the team with her 14.9 points per game and is the only player apart from von Herrhofen to average double figures. She averaged her double-double of 8.6 rebounds and isn’t far from scoring a point.

The Beals’ rebounding tally also ranked second on the team in that statistic. She only goes after her sophomore Elena Mitrovic in redshirt. Like her younger teammates, Mitrovic isn’t far from a double-double with her 8.6 points and her 9.0 rebounds per game.

The Beavers have defensive and board support from former Wildcat guard Bendu Yeaney. Yeaney announced on Senior Day last year that he was returning to Arizona for his final season. About two weeks later, she was at her transfer portal and landed near her home in Portland, Oregon.

When his brother Jonathan Dunbar was shot dead in Portland in early October, it turned out to be the best move for Yenny, who was close to his family. I was able to be close to loved ones who asked for help.
