Hitchin’s boxing gym hosted a charity dinner with the former undefeated world champion.
No Mercy Boxing Gym, run by Stephen Kinersley and Graham Tyrrell, will host an event with Joe Calzaghe on Saturday, March 11th.
Calzaghe has won all 46 professional fights as a boxer and has held the WBO super middleweight belt for over a decade. This is a record. he also ring He held the light heavyweight title from 2008 until his retirement the following year.
Calzaghe defeated Mikel Kessler to win WBO, WBA, WBC, ring Super middleweight belt.
The No Mercy event will take place on March 11th at 7pm at the Needham House Hotel in Little Wymondley and will follow up on previous events with Frank Bruno, John Fury and Nigel Benn.
Tickets are £100 and include a three-course meal, a face-to-face photo with Calzaghe and the chance to hear about his career.
A portion of ticket sales will go to Letchworth-based Garden House Hospice Care, with further donations coming from the raffle that night.
