High School Soccer: Horton Boy Scouts overtake Nishiwashita

The Horton Bucks beat West Ouachita 9-1 in the men’s game on Saturday.

Abdul Zidane scored three and José Montes scored two. Carter Everb, Jacob Wood and Chris Ontyberos each scored one.

Carlos Obregón, Hudson Culver, and Johann Roche were cited for their all-around efforts.

The Horton JV closed out the season with a loss to Calvary Baptiste and a win over West Ouachita. Rico Rodriguez, Brandon Martinez and Homero Villarreal scored.

According to GeauxPreps.com, Horton is 18th in the Division II Power Rating and is on track to make the playoffs. The Bucs (11-7-1) will face North Caddo on Monday at 6 p.m. He’s Airline.

The regular season ends on January 31st.

In the men’s non-district match, Benton lost 2-1 to Caddo Magnet.

Benton (10-11-1) is 26th in the Division I Power Ratings. The top 32 teams in the final rating will advance to the playoffs.

After beating Starlington 4-1 on Friday, the Tigers will visit Captain Shreve on Wednesday for a chance to claim a share of the Division 1-I title.

In the women’s non-district match, Parkway lost 2–0 to Neville at Monroe.

The Lady Panthers (11-6-1) are 9th in the Division II Power Rating and will host the first round playoff match.

Parkway will host Natchtosh Central Tuesday with games in District 1-II.
