VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Highliner basketball will face Grand Forks Central tonight in the pivotal Eastern Dakota Conference (EDC) pairs.
Central will be in Valley City tonight for women’s basketball, and the men will travel to Grand Forks. Both games are worth two league wins as they will be the only matchups between the teams this year.
The Knights recently won five straight games in men’s basketball with Fargo Shanley. The winning streak included wins over Fargo North and Devils Lake, notable wins in the middle of the league standings.
Central is 5-5 in the EDC standings. Eric Pay leads the Knights with 17.6 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. Valley City are still chasing their first league win, trailing Zach Sikora’s averaging 12 points per game.
The women’s match is two teams with one league title each. Both teams have had dominant victories over Fargo South this season. Lauren Reardon leads the Kings with 18.8 points per game. Brooke Eggermont leads her Hi-Liners with her 12 points per contest.
Both games are scheduled to tip off at 7:15pm. The boy’s coverage will be on KOVC AM 1490/FM 96.3.
