Former NFL star Greg Hardy no longer needs to worry about top heavyweights beating him inside the Octagon.Instead, the ‘Prince of War’ swapped mixed martial arts (MMA) gloves for bare knuckle boxing, with its debut set for BKFC Knucklemania 3. Bookings were confirmed by MMA Fighting on Thursday. MyMMANews.

After leaving the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in March 2022 after posting a 4-5 (1 NC) record, Hardy signed with the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) this summer. Hardy, who stopped in the professional boxing ring last October with a vicious knockout win, will make his first official bare-knuckle boxing appearance next month.

The former UFC heavyweight will take on Josh Watson at BKFC Knucklemania 3 on February 17 from inside the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A clash of heavyweights is expected to appear on the main card. There is nothing remarkable about Watson, but he is now a seasoned veteran with his 1-1 record inside the BKFC ring.

Hardy, 34, should do well as a bare-knuckle boxer. The former MMA fighter is renowned for his punching power and has delivered an equally impressive three knockout finishes inside the Octagon. The fact that Hardy doesn’t have to worry about a game, a long clinch, or his three five-minute rounds should bode well for “Prince of War” to move forward.

BKFC KnuckleMania 3 will also feature the bare knuckle boxing debuts of former UFC veterans Diego Sanchez and John Dodson. Expected to be the biggest card of the year’s promotion.
