The 36-year-old looks worn out as he hides a shadow box in front of a framed portrait of him winning the IBF welterweight title in 2014.
Last night, his manager Terry Thompson claimed it was a “joke”.
Brooke wore a T-shirt of legendary boxer Joe Louis at a party in Sheffield.
A source said: “There was a small gathering at his house and people were drinking spirits and smoking cigarettes.
“He was smoking white powder.”
His wife, Lindsey, 35, was often spotted in the ring after the fight, but his three children were believed to be absent.
Brooke’s last match was almost a year ago when he defeated bitter rival Amir Khan. He wrote on Twitter in his 2012:
“He was seen taking cocaine.
“Boxing is a professional sport for those who have discipline and respect.”
Brook announced his retirement in May after winning 40 of 43 professional fights.
However, he recently said he would return to the ring in search of a suitable offer.
He has been touted as an opponent for light middleweight Liam Smith, who defeated Chris Eubank Jr. last weekend.

A friend of England and Manchester City footballer Kyle Walker, Brooke grew up in Sheffield’s council housing.
He started boxing at the age of 12, turned professional at 18 and quickly won a title belt.
However, he had problems outside the ring.
In 2007, he was stabbed in the buttocks outside a Sheffield nightclub.
Later that year, he was slashed three times with a machete in Tenerife, requiring 32 metal staples.
In 2014, he defeated Sean Porter in California to become the IBF World Welterweight Champion.
In 2017, he lost the fight while suffering a broken eye socket.
In 2018, he admitted that he has struggled with depression since, recalling:
“It was a very dark time.
“I needed a lot of counselors.
“Words cannot express how depressed I was.”
Manager Thompson said of the party clip:
“They were at his house and they were laughing.
“They were joking.
“He said to them, ‘Catch me laughing.'”
When asked if the powder was cocaine, he said no.
