Football brings two transfers to join 2023 roster

Oxford, Miss. ole miss soccer and head coach Matt Mott Meredith King and Kelly Brady have announced the addition of two Division I transfers to their 2023 roster.

ASUN Freshman of the Year for Spring 2021, King has played for Liberty the last three seasons and has been a staple of the Flames’ forward attack. During his freshman season, King scored his two winning goals and scored a total of five points during the COVID-19 shortened season. One of her winning goals against ASUN in her championship tournament against North Florida sent the Flames to her game of the championship. The forward was not only named to the ASUN All-Freshman Team, but was also named the conference’s Freshman of the Year.

During his sophomore season, King scored a total of 12 points with 4 goals and 4 assists. She finished the season tied for fifth with ASUN in assists and was in the top 20 in both goals and total points. The Virginia Beach, Virginia native has scored a total of 4 points in 2022 with his 1 goal and 2 assists.

King played high school football at Ocean Lakes High School in Virginia Beach and played for the Richmond United ECNL U-19 club team.

The 2020-21 Northeast Conference Rookie of the Year, Brady hails from Central Connecticut State University and has played the past three seasons, earning multiple conference honors. She scored 4 goals and 3 assists for a total of 11 points in her freshman season, earning Northeast Conference All-Rookie honors. Brady scored a goal in her NEC Championship her game with her LIU and played in her first NCAA Tournament with her Blue Devils.

In her sophomore season, Brady tallied 3 goals and 5 assists in 19 games and was named to the All-NEC First Team and NEWISA All-New England Third Team. She led Central Connecticut in assists and shooting this season, and tied up her first career multi-goal game with two goals against St. Francis.

Brady was named to the All-NEC First Team again for 2022 as he led the Blue Devils with 16 total points. She had her six goals, a team-high, and her five assists, leading the team in 15 games. Brady was also named to the United Soccer Coaches All-North Region Third on her team, winning her third consecutive NEC regular season title with Central Connecticut. Brady is from Tomkins, New York Her Cove and during her high school years in North North she played football at Rockland High School.
