Football: Armando Lara scores 6 goals for Tribe at Forney Tournament | Sport

Forney – Jacksonville won the Forney tournament 3-1 on the weekend, beating Longview 6-0.

The Tribes (4-1) defeated Royce City 4-2 and Lakeview Centennial 4-1 on Thursday after losing 3-1 to the White House.

Armando Lara scored six goals for Forney to inspire the tribes offensively and goalkeeper Davey Smith was the winning keeper in a clean sheet win at Longview and win over Lloyd’s City.

Sebastion Juárez, Dylan Roberts, Jacob Gonzalez, Lara, Roland Muñoz and Karol Cardenas each scored in the one-sided victory over Longview.

Jonathan Frias had two assists for Jacksonville, while Gabriel Gambino, JJ Cabrera and Jose Escaleno each had one.

Axel Zamora was the winning keeper for the Indians.

Lara scored a hat-trick and aggressively paced Jacksonville in the win over Lakeview-Centenia.

Chris Cardenas also hit the ball over the goal line.

Providing assists for the Indians were Gonzalez and Nathan Ramirez.

Lara, Karol Cardenas, Ramirez and Chris Cardenas scored the tribe against Lloyd’s City.

Assists gained were Roberts, Roberto Muñoz, Ramirez and Chris Cardenas.

Lara drilled the ball past the White House keeper for Jacksonville’s only goal of the game, with Chris Cardenas scoring the assist.

Zamora lost with a Jacksonville goal.

Jacksonville head boy soccer coach Rudy Jaramillo credited Zach Zimmerhansel, Roberts, Juan Cedillo and Edgar Moreira for their defensive efforts throughout the tournament.

The Tribes will return to the pitch at 10:30 a.m. Thursday by facing Pinetree on day one of the Longview High School Tournament.
