Female swimmer who tied Leah Thomas condemns transgender sport policies: Bringing women back to the 1970s

A former college swimmer who competed with transgender athlete Leah Thomas denounced the left for continuing to encourage transgender athletes to compete in women’s sports.

In an interview with The Ingraham Angle on Thursday, Riley Gaines said transgender policy is turning back the clock on Title IX and women’s rights and is not as “progressive” as advertised.

Guest host Raymond Arroyo asked Gaines if women continue to have equal access to sports while governments and schools force women to compete with transgender athletes.

“Absolutely not,” Gaines said. “This takes us back to the 1970s, before Title IX. I don’t think the left gets it. They consider this ‘progressive.'”

“They think we’re moving forward, but this is putting us half a century back. It’s a step backward.”

Gaines told ESPN that he was “humbled and honored” that Thomas won the Division I championship, and that he hopes more transgender athletes will be inspired to watch the clip. I refused.

She said that Thomas used to be an average male swimmer under the name Will Thomas, and that taking politics and subjectivity out of the discussion meant that Thomas’ performance later when he competed against biological women He added that there was a noticeable difference.
