boyLongview 2, Tyler 1: The Longview Lobos kicked off play for District 15-5A on Friday with a 2-1 home win over Tyler High.

Karsten Guerra opened the scoring early with Lobo’s goal just four minutes into the match. This is the hard drive from inside the box.

Tyler equalized just before the half to make it 1-1, but with six minutes remaining Jared Zuniga’s long drive beat the keeper at the near post to create the winning goal.

Lobo JV won 4-1.

Longview will visit Texas High School on Tuesday.

Other division games on Friday saw Mount Pleasant beat Marshall 14-0, Texas High beat Hallsville 2-0 and Pine Tree lost 1-0 to the White House.

White House 1, P. Tree 0The White House Wildcats beat the Pine Tree Pirates 1-0 in Friday’s Division 15-5A opener at Pirates Stadium.

Luke Neely scored the only goal of the White House contest.

Pine Tree visits Marshall on Tuesday.

Springhill 2, Tatum 1: Michael Coggins, with an assist from Alex Thorsen, pushed Spring Hill (4-4-1, 1-0) over Tatum (1-8-2, 0-1) to clinch the winner with less than two minutes remaining. I decided.

Abbie Fisher scored an early goal for Sanchez to give Springhill a 1–0 lead, and Elizabeth Fleet assisted Madison Fleet’s goal to extend the lead.

Leslie then scored back-to-back goals from assists from Johanna Sánchez and Alexa Johnson before assisting on Madison Fleet’s goal.

Mallory Pinson scored in a scramble inside the box to make it 5-0 in the end.

The Lady Panthers visit Kilgore on Tuesday.
