The Giants are 9-7-1 this season (Jones is 9-6) to clinch the No. 6 seed in the NFC. His passing was for 3,205 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions, and he rushed for 5.9 yards per carry (708 yards on 120 attempts) and 7 TDs.
The 25-year-old Jones has served as four offensive coordinators in four seasons with the Giants and has been consistent in first-year coach Brian Dabor’s system. He will become a free agent this offseason after general manager Joe Shane and the new regime declined to take his fifth-year option.

The Giants will face the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday (4:30 p.m. ET, FOX) in a rematch of the Christmas Eve thriller that ended with Greg Joseph’s 61-yard field goal.
“Hey, it’s the playoffs. It’s all about participating,” Manning said. “No one knows how the ball will bounce on Sunday, so I will stay home and cheer hard for the Giants.”

The Giants’ ability to win close games is reminiscent of the successful teams Manning played in New York. Winning by a narrow margin takes confidence, and that usually comes from the head coach, Manning said.

Going into the season, Manning’s goal was to have a former president on the show. They achieved that in October when Barack Obama joined them during the New England Patriots’ game against the Chicago Bears.
Obama’s landing was “wonderful,” Manning said. “I thought he did a great job.”
Manning had to think a little to figure out who his next dream guest was.
“I think[Shaquille O’Neal],” he said. “We have to get Shaq there.”

Manning wouldn’t be the first to face Tom Brady in the playoffs. Both of his Super Bowl wins were against Brady’s former team, the Patriots. He’s familiar with the Cowboys.
He expects it to be close in the second postseason game where the “Manningcast” works. There aren’t many guests or questions, Manning said.
“I’ll have some,” Manning said. “When it comes to football, I want to keep it. For some of these key moments, it’s just too exciting and too important.
“That playoff vibe.”
