Eddie Hearn says he hopes WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol will next face Joshua Bouatsy, while IBF, WBC and WBO champion Artur Beterbiev will be competing in Liverpool, England in the summer. He will face WBC mandatory Callum Smith.

Hahn said Bivol will face Canelo Alvarez in a rematch later this year, and then Beterbiev at some point. Hahn hasn’t said when Bivol will fight Beterbiev, but it’s likely early 2024.

Beterbiev is injured and needs medical attention and will have Ramadan from March 22nd to April 21st. Those two reasons for him keep Beterbiev (19-0, 19 KOs) out of the fight until the summer. Boxing His fans want Bivol and Beterbiev to fight next, but that’s not possible.

Callum Smith would be a good fight for Beterbiev, but it’s questionable if he’d be interested in going to Liverpool to risk being robbed.

“Great effort from Anthony Yard. Great mind, and he stood there. What I saw was a great performance from Beterbiev,” said Eddie Hearn after Saturday’s eighth-round knockout. Artur Beterbiev spoke to the DAZN Boxing Show about his win over Anthony Yard.

“You know boxing. Whether you thought him [Beterbiev] Whether he was behind in that fight or not, he was always in control. When the shot came back he put his foot down and brought his yardage into the shot. He was breaking him round after round. It was a really good performance from Beterbiev. he is a great fighter.

“Yeah, Yard can really fight. He showed a great mind and a great performance. No. Dmitry Bivol has wanted a Beterbiev fight for a long time.

“You saw the build-up to the fight. Let’s see if they have the same energy.

“Probably one of the biggest fights in boxing. But Canelo Alvarez also wants to fight the undisputed 168-year-old Dmitry Bivol, so Bivol is in a great position. For me, Ramadan. Later in the early summer, I hope to see Callum Smith vs. Artur Beterbiev at the big Liverpool Stadium at Anfield.

“Dmitry Bivol in the spring against Joshua Bouaci, Bivol going open-ended with Canelo on 168, open-ended with Beterbiev soon, or Callum Smith on 175.

“There are so many things that could happen. It’s a really exciting place here because there are fights,” Hahn said.
