The Dodgers hope to capitalize on their youth this season, so many young players could have a chance. Michael Bush has potential, but competing for the bat with other star candidates like Miguel Vargas may be more difficult.

Bush needs to make progress defensively to handle second base. And while Bush hits well with Triple A (OPS .823, or 102 wRC+), the Dodgers look much higher with Vargas’ bat.
Bush can definitely play his part, but he might be the most difficult position player to play behind Vargas and Outman.
Given the fact that the Dodgers already have enough pieces in positions such as center field and first base, there is some uncertainty as to whether Bush will be a necessary option. must contend for the at bat with a crowded Dodgers roster that includes other talented rookies like Miguel Vargas and James Outman.
Bush has experience playing left field in the minors, but there are hesitation about placing him in that particular role. Last month, Baseball’s Prospectus said Bush could thrive in utility roles at second base and left field.
The 25-year-old is a top 2b prospect, but his lack of defense could make it more difficult for LA to see value in adding him to their lineup any time soon.
