The LA Clippers went all-in in the summer of 2019, acquiring both Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. Swapping young star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for George, the Clippers signed Leonard and built the most talented roster in franchise history.
Philadelphia 76ers head coach Doc Rivers, who was coaching the Clippers at the time, recently admitted he wasn’t sure about the deal. Rivers continued, “When I was in LA, the day we decided to make the move, I wasn’t sure about it. He’s a good boy, so I’m really happy to have him.”
It was clear very early on that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was special. He is currently one of the best players in the NBA.
