Football star Dani Alves was arrested in Spain on Friday on charges of sexual assault, according to multiple reports.

After Barcelona, Alves played one season with Italian powerhouse Juventus, winning Serie A, and two seasons with French top team Paris Saint-Germain, winning Ligue 1 twice. Then in his native Brazil, São Paulo, where he played for three seasons, he returned to Barcelona for a year. After that, from this season he joined PUMAS UNAM.
Alves has denied any wrongdoing.

Alves will be held in custody pending trial, but a date has yet to be set.
