January 30, 1961: Howard Schnellenberger has been hired as an end coach. Within a week he had two vacancies filled and Paul W. “Bear” Bryant filled. One more he was Elwood he was Kettler. The two new coaches replaced Virginia Tech’s new head his coach, Jerry Claiborne, and Georgia’s new defensive line coach, Bob Ford.
