Clemson, South Carolina — Clemson made history on the basketball court Wednesday night.
Thanks to an 83-70 victory over Louisville at Littlejohn Coliseum, the Tigers improved to 6-0 in ACC play and started the ACC season 6-0 for the first time in program history. The program’s previous best start in league play was 5-0, and they did that in 1996–97 as well.
Clemson had a game-high 28 points and 11 rebounds off Hunter Tyson. The Tigers also scored points guard Chase He has 13 points and 7 rebounds from Hunter and 10 points from Blevin Galloway and PJ Hall.
With a 17-2 run around the halfway point in the first half, Clemson controlled most of the game. Tyson hit a 3-point shot and the Tigers had 7:11 left to put him in a 24-18 lead.
Clemson (14-3, 6-0 ACC) led 40-28 in the second half and 49-32 by 17 points in the second half.
Louisville (2-15, 0-6) tried to make a game of things and got within 6 points (72-66) at Kamari Land 3 with 2:51 remaining. But on the ensuing possession, Tyson scored his own three-pointer to extend his lead to nine with 2:29 remaining.
After the Cardinals cut the lead to 6 for the second time in the final minute, Hall completed a 3-point play to seal the win with 1:04 remaining.

Louisville was led by Mike James’ 17 points.
note: Clemson closed out the first half by outscoring the Cardinals 33-12 with 12:40 in the final.

Injury update: Guard Alex Hemenway missed five straight games due to injury.
Game Players: Tyson scored 28 points and had 11 rebounds for his fifth straight double-double of the year. The Alumni Senior finished the night with 9/14 from the field.
Key moments: Beating Louisville 16-7 with 12:40 left, the Tigers continued their 11-0 run over the next four minutes to take an 18-16 lead with 8:50 left. They never dragged again. Clemson went 4-for-4 in his 11-0 run, but the Cardinals turned the ball over five times for him.
