Why Alabama Retains Second Place Despite Big Loss To Oklahoma

Memphis, Tennessee — The AP Top 25 continues to wreak havoc at the conference. 13 ranked teams lost this week. But one of them he wants to focus on is Alabama.

The Crimson Tide was blown away by Oklahoma 93-69 in Norman after narrowly avoiding a home loss to Mississippi State 66-63.

I think some voters justifiably drop Alabama for the unranked loss. But looking at their work as a whole, I decided they were still his second best team in college basketball.

Even with a loss, they’re still 11-3 in games in quads 1 and 2. Purdue is the only team in the country with a strong 11-1 record. All three of his losses for Alabama have been quad one situations. The rest of my top 5 have lost at least once in quads 2 or 3.

Tennessee fans hoped the Vols would fly over Alabama after their top 10 win over Texas. For the above reasons, and Alabama’s clean SEC record, Tide still wins my vote. Tennessee finished third this week.
