Cincinnati — Bengals tight end Hayden Hurst has played in three different franchises, but no locker room feels as intimate as the one in Cincinnati.
“You don’t see this a lot in the NFL,” Hurst said. “This sense of togetherness is mostly when you’re with a team, and it’s the position groups that tend to be together, but it doesn’t matter here. Everyone is friendly, everyone is hanging out and , everyone loves each other. That’s why we have so much success in the field.”
Hurst praised the “incredible” work the team has done in free agency to reach their second straight AFC championship trip.
“I mean free agency. They went out and got players they thought would be a good fit,” Hurst said. “I think it turned out pretty great. They’ve done a great job. You know, like I said, I applaud this organization. I’m happy to be here. I’m happy to be here.” I’m happy to be able to contribute to , I hope, I don’t know if I’ll stay, but I have to get out there and do my job.”
Hurst is on a one-year deal, and is doing just enough to get the Bengals to revisit their 2023 roster.
That was in March, but now all that worrisome energetic presence is a result of Sunday.
