Milwaukee (AP) — Terry Rozier scored a season-high 39 points while the Charlotte Hornets tied an NBA record for 51 in the first quarter in Friday night’s 138-109 win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

Charlotte’s 51-point blowout tied the NBA mark in the first quarter set by Golden State against Denver in 2019.

The Hornets, whose biggest first-quarter lead was 45-17, shot 69 percent on 20-of-29 shooting early.

Milwaukee star Giannis Antetokounmpo tied for third in the league with 32.7 points per game and scored a season-low nine points in 22 minutes. He shot 2 of 7 from the field and 5 of 11 on the foul line. Antetokounmpo’s lowest points so far this season have been 16 points on two occasions.
