To fill the vacancies left by Ryan O’Carson’s departure, Century High School announced Wednesday that it has hired Laura Hurts and Stéphane Guillaume as the program’s new women’s and men’s soccer coaches, respectively.

Hearts has had a long career at both the college and professional level. She enrolled in her NJCAA DI at Navarro College and moved to the University of Texas at San Antonio where she played women’s premier soccer for the Alamo SC in the league.

Hertz has coached and refereeed at several youth levels. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Minot State University and a Master’s degree in Forest Resources and Conservation from the University of Florida.

Hearts missed out on making the state tournament for the first time in their history by coaching the Century Soccer team, which finished sixth in last year’s West Region regular season standings (5-10-1, 4-9-1, 13 points). Did.

Guillaume also has an extensive professional career, having played for the Colorado Rapids, Miami FC, Cleveland City Stars and Fort Lauderdale Strikers covering the MLS, USL and NASL.

Guillaume has also played for the Haiti national team in several different cycles, winning the 2007 Caribbean Nations Cup and was part of the Haiti squad that represented Haiti in the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Stefan has been coaching at youth level for the last 10 years and is currently coaching Bismarck’s Magic Soccer program.

Guillaume will lead the 2023 Century Boys football team, which finished sixth in the province last fall and fourth in the regular season standings (9-6-4 overall, 6-4-4 on 22 points). .
