Kevin Durant and Ben Simmons missed the Brooklyn Nets Wednesday night. The rest of the team may have been on the injury report as well.

The Boston Celtics, led by Jayson Tatum’s 31 points and 9 rebounds, completely wiped out Brooklyn at TD Garden 139-96.

Jaylen Brown added 26 points and Kyrie Irving led the way to the ill-fated Nets with 20 points.

The Nets were unable to hit the rim with a medicine ball in this game. They were also squashed to the board 57-32.

During this stretch with Bourne, it was rare for the Nets to completely work and fuss throughout the game, but that’s exactly what happened tonight. The game ended in about three minutes and the Nets never really pushed back.

That’s because the Celtics have won 11 of their last 14 games, while the Nets have lost seven of their last 11. Match.

As a result, the Nets (31-20) dropped to fifth in the East, while the Celtics (37-15) were the number one seed in the conference, leading the Philadelphia 76ers by 2.5 games.

Now they are two teams going in opposite directions. Getting Durant back and to a lesser extent Simmons back would help. However, the Celtics’ Nets numbers date back to last season.

However, it is less definitive than Wednesday night.There was an explosion and then there was that.
