Former four-division world champion Adrian Broner is looking forward to the opportunity to trade punches with his former mentor and former five-division champion Floyd Mayweather.
Bronner was tabbed at one point as the second coming of Mayweather.
The two boxers were very close friends, but it appeared they had drifted apart a few years ago when Broner called Mayweather to a sanctioned fight.
Mayweather retired from the sport in 2017 after stopping UFC star Conor McGregor in a cross-sport boxing match.
Bronner is still fighting aggressively and will make his return to the ring next month against Ivan Redkach.
While retired, Mayweather actively participates in exhibition fights. Last year, Mayweather stepped into the ring three times and is set to have another exhibition in the UK in February.
“We have a match scheduled in the UK in 2023. We are looking forward to being here in February and organizing an exhibition for our UK fans,” Mayweather told The Telegraph.
“When I was actively boxing professionally, I never had the opportunity to come here and fight.
Broner believes the two could make a lot of money if they agreed to clash in the ring.
“These last few shows that Floyd has been in, he’s gotten 3, 4, 5, 8. He says, ‘I got 10 million, 20 million.’ . yeah nice If that’s what he says, cool,” Broner told the Round da Way podcast.
“But when he and I put on an exhibition, it automatically goes off the top and you have to give him 100 million and you have to give me 100 million.”
