The Denver Broncos have an in-person interview with former New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton scheduled in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
Payton is one of the highest profile coaches and at least one expert believes the Broncos are the frontrunners to hire him. To do so, Denver must compensate New Orleans.

Draft Wire’s Luke Easterling predicts the team will do just that. In his latest 2023 NFL Mock Draft, the Eastlings have the Broncos trade their second-half first-round draft pick to New Orleans for the rights to Payton.
“Sean Payton seems to pick a lot of suitors this offseason. If anyone can save Russell Wilson, he’s probably Denver’s best bet,” Easterling wrote on Draftwire.
Wilson spoke effusively about Payton, calling him one of the best coaches in the world.
Meanwhile, the Saints will pick Tennessee QB Hendon Hooker in the Easterling Mock Draft with a pick acquired from the Broncos.
Speculation and predictions will continue until Denver officially has a new head coach to replace Nathaniel Hackett.
