TUSCALOOSA, Alabama — After playing one of the best games of Alabama’s career in the Sugar Bowl, Crimson Tide defensive back Brian Branch is heading to the NFL.
Branch announced on social media on Monday afternoon that the senior season will be brought forward.
“First and foremost, I thank and praise God for allowing me to play the game I love at such a high level, and for being the foundation of all my success,” Branch wrote on Instagram. “To my mother, who has always been my rock and my biggest supporter, if you don’t inspire and inspire me nonstop, I will never be able to do this.” I couldn’t have done it.Thank you to my wonderful family!

Branch then formalized a draft declaration and closed the post.
“I’ve grown so much since first grade. Thanks to Alabama, I’m confident I’m ready to take my game to the next level.” I decided to drop out and enter the 2023 NFL Draft.It’s been a dream of mine since I can remember, and I’m ready to embrace the next journey of my life.”
Branch ended his Alabama career with a bang, playing a solid game at the Crimson Tide’s defensive back in last Saturday’s 45-20 Sugar Bowl victory over Kansas State. Branch finished second on the team with 12 tackles, 11 of which were solo. He also recorded four tackles, including one sack and an interception.
Branch appeared in a total of 40 games in his three seasons with Alabama. In total, he recorded his 172 tackles, of which he soloed 111. Branch recorded his loss of 19.5 tackles, including four sacks. He also defended 27 passes and had one fumble recovery.
Branch finished his career with four interceptions in three seasons.
