A Barcelona judge has ordered Brazilian football star Dani Alves to be held without bail after he was charged with sexually assaulting him over a nightclub incident last December.
According to multiple reports, the alleged sexual assault took place on the night of December 30th or in the early morning of December 31st in a bathroom at Barcelona’s Sutton nightclub. The woman involved was notified to the nightclub manager, who took her to the hospital for a sexual assault test.A few days later, the woman formally reported her Alves to the police.
Alves, who plays for Mexican club Pumas, denied the allegations in an interview with Spanish TV channel Antenna 3 earlier this month.
