In the first round it was a feeling out that Davis had the upper hand. In the second round, it was Garcia who used his reach to have the edge, until the final punch from Davis in Garcia’s chin. In the third round, Garcia landed several lead lefts on Davis’ chin and took the round.
In the fourth round, a right hook from Davis to the chin midway through the round rocked Garcia. Garcia took the round. In the fifth round, Garcia landed a solid right to his jaw, knocking Davis back in the head a minute into the game. Both had their moments.
In the sixth round, Garcia got the better of the action as both fighters were throwing single punch shots in several combinations. In the 7th round, champion Davis started to land the lead on the left to the delight of the fans. In the eighth round, Davis hurt Garcia as a small riot started outside the ring and the action stopped. By the end of the round, Davis had injured Garcia and was sidelined for the ninth round, claiming his eye injury. After eight rounds, this writer’s card was evenly matched. The referee is Earl Brown.
In the co-main event, No. 1 Jaron “Boots” Ennis, 30-0-1 (27), #145 ½, Philadelphia, PA, No. 4 Karen Chukhadzhian, 21-2 (21-2 ( 11), #146 ¼, Kyiv, UKR, over 12 rounds of the Interim Welter Title.
As the first minute of the first round drew to a close, Ennis switched to southpaw for the remainder of the round chasing Chukajian across the ring. In the second round, Ennis went back to orthodox and continued to land Chukasian with occasional jabs. In the first minute of the third round, Ennis switched to southpaw again. Midway through the round, Ennis injured Chukajian with a body shot. In the final 15 seconds Ennis again hurt Chukajian with a right to the chin.
A left uppercut from a southpaw by Ennis on the chin rocked Chukajian in the first minute of the fourth round. Ennis he returned to Orthodoxy a minute later. In the final minute of the fifth round, Chukajian landed the best punch of the fight to the chin of Ennis. In the final seconds, Ennis landed a right to the chin that caught Chukajian’s attention.
In the final seconds of the seventh round, Ennis made Chakajian look like a beatman and heard Bell slowly walk into his corner. In the eighth round, Ennis landed a pair of overhand rights to the head as the first minute was over.
In the ninth round, Chukajian landed his first combination on Ennis’ chin near the end of the first minute. Ennis kept the pressure on Chukajian running for the rest of the round. In the final minute of the eleventh round, Ennis landed three rights from a southpaw to the chin, hurting Chukajian. Ennis is frustrated trying to put an end to this.
Twenty seconds later in the twelfth and final round, Chukajian landed his best combination on Ennis’ chin. Ennis then took over again. In the final moments Chukajian stood his ground and paid the price, moving again as Ennis threw a shutout to end the fight!

WBC Welter International Champion Rashidi “Speedy” Ellis, 24-1 (15), #146 ¼, of Lynn, MASS, Roiman “Flaco de Oro” Villa, 26-1 (24), # 145 ¾, Rosario, VZ, Ellis was dropped twice in 12th Final round in the IBF Welter Eliminator.
In the first two rounds, Villa followed Ellis, barely landing many punches, but Ellis countered with hands and feet much faster with jabs and some bodywork. Midway through the round, the fighters made their first exchange. Ellis continued to control the battle.
In the fourth round, a right uppercut from Ellis to Villa’s chin shook him mid-round. In the final moment, Villa delivered a left uppercut to Ellis’ body. Ellis took another round. In the seventh round, Villa landed his left double hook to the body and the second hook hurt Ellis a little low.
In the final half hour of the ninth round, Villa landed a left to the ear where Ellis rocked him. In the final 20 seconds of the tenth round, a right from Villa to the side of Ellis’ head clamped Ellis’ knee. In the 11th Villa had one of his best rounds, bleeding from his lower lip at the end of the round. In the twelfth and final round, a left hook fell a minute before the round from Villa on the chin and Ellis took an eight count from referee Brent Bovel. In the final seconds after multiple holds by Ellis, a three-punch combination to the head from Villa dropped Ellis, and another punch landing by Villa brought Ellis down, stopping Ellis when the bell rang. saved from .

In the second round, just over a minute passed as a right jab from southpaw Andrade followed by a left jab to the neck dropped Nicholson on the count of eight from referee Malik Waleed. Andrade suffered a scrape on his left eyebrow. Andrade returned to the ring 14 months after his shoulder surgery.
The fifth round saw a left flank and push-and-down from Nicholson, with Andrade dominating a slip by referee Wereed one minute into the round. Andrade unleashed his five-punch combination to the head and body in his final minute. In the final minute of the sixth round, a solid left jab from Nicholson to his right eye stopped Andrade.
In the seventh round, Andrade landed a right to the chin and grabbed Nicholson next behind, pulling him to the canvas. In the eighth round, Andrade pinned Nicholson in the neutral corner for the first two minutes to dominate the round.
In the tenth and final round, Andrade’s left on Nicholson’s chin dropped him on the count of eight from referee Waleed.
