Boxing legend Azumah Nelson loses mother

Boxing legend Azumar Nelson has confirmed the death of his mother, Comfort Atway Quarkoo.

She died on Monday, January 2nd at the age of 86.

Madame Quarkoo passed away peacefully at home after several months of illness, according to her family.

In a short statement he said: I spent time with her 3 days before her and I could see she was in pain.

“After successfully raising her children and seeing her grandchildren, she is doing very well and deserves some rest. This is a celebration of life,” he added.

Azuma also requested that Ghanaians offer prayers to him and his family.

Burial and funeral details will be announced soon, family members said.

Asma Nelson is a three-time world boxing champion, 2004 Boxing Hall of Famer, Africa’s greatest boxer, and WBC’s all-time greatest super featherweight boxer.

He will also be inducted into the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame in August 2022.
