Ajagba, 28, was scheduled to face World Boxing Council (WBC) Oscar Rivas.
Colombia’s Rivas withdrew from the fight and American Shaw quickly intervened.

A few days before his match with Shaw, Ajagba reported on his progress on his official social media platforms.
Ajagba has posted a photo of himself working out in the gym wearing La Liga giants Barcelona’s 2019/20 home jersey.
Barcelona are one of the biggest clubs in world football and have had incredible victories over the years.
Ajagba, along with a picture of himself wearing the Barcelona jersey, said, “The preparations for the camp are complete.
“Looking forward to Sat Jan 14/ESPN/Don’t miss it. Don’t blink. Silent Roller.”
Top Rank’s Bob Arum explained how Shaw came on board as Rivas’ replacement.
He said “Stefan Shaw has stepped up and is doing a tough job against one of the division’s biggest punchers in Efe Ajagba.”Said
Ajagba, a bronze medalist at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, bounced back after losing to Frank Sanchez in August 2022 with a technical knockout victory over Joseph Dalmos.
