On this day in the history of the Boston Celtics, Boston Basketball Partners LLC announced that it had completed its purchase of the Celtics’ NBA basketball franchise from its previous owner in 2002.
Boston Basketball Partners is an investment made up of a management committee made up of Wyc Grousbeck, H. Irving Grousbeck, Stephen Pagliuca, and The Abbey Group (composed of Robert Epstein, Paul Edgerley, Glenn Hutchins, and James Pallotta). Company. Team owned by Paul Gaston. Finally, it’s also former Boston forward Hal Crisler’s birthday. Born in Richmond, California in 1923, the Iowa alum played just his four games for the Celtics in the first season of 1946–47.
Crisler averaged 1.4 points per game in that stretch. Rest in peace.
