The NFL pissed off Joe Mixon again.
The Bengals running back wasn’t happy when asked about the NFL’s sale of tickets for the AFC championship game on Wednesday on a neutral site.
“Honestly disrespectful” Mixon told WCPO’s Marshall Chlumsky“We’re not worried about that. We have a game on Sunday, right? So you can’t count us out.”
“There’s a match on Sunday. All this stuff, that doesn’t mean s–t. We’ll go there on Sunday and do what we have to [win], then we’ll see what they’re talking about. ”
Tickets went on sale Wednesday for the AFC Championship game in Atlanta, a potential neutral site between the Chiefs and Bills. The Chiefs will host the Jaguars in Saturday’s divisional round game. The higher seed will host the conference title game if the Bengals or Jaguars advance.
The Bengals will face the Bills in Sunday’s AFC Division Round playoff game. He comes 20 days after the Week 17 matchup was shortened in the first quarter and ultimately canceled after Buffalo’s safety dummer Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest on the field. Hamlin has been discharged from the hospital and has been spending time with his teammates in the run-up to the playoffs.
Mixon’s comments come after previously expressing dissatisfaction with the NFL’s handling of the playoff format. Cincinnati’s victory in the finale rendered the NFL’s decision meaningless.
Last Friday, Mixon demanded that the NFL pay a fine for the coin-toss celebration that took place during the Week 18 victory.
The Bengals beat the Ravens 24-17 again in the wildcard round to set up a matchup with the Bills.
