Raleigh, North Carolina — The Athens Drive Jaguars earned an important conference victory on Tuesday night over the Enloe hosts Eagles.
The Jaguars erased a large halftime deficit in the second half of the rally to take a 50-47 win.
Noah Hinton sparked a double-digit rally with an outstanding shooting performance in the second half, closing out the team with a two-point lead on a three-point play with 12 seconds remaining.
Athens were at a disadvantage as the Eagles played great in the first half. Enlow created chances around the rim that created chances and held the Jaguars to just 18 points in the first half.
The Jaguars got out of the slump with 18 points in the third quarter alone and got back into the game.
After graduating from many of last year’s nucleus of conference championships, Athens Drive has won big in its quest to repeat as champions of the revamped CAP-6.
The Jaguars are now sitting 2-0 in conference play with this win and their previous win over Sanderson.
The two teams will meet again on 30 January opposite Raleigh in Athens.
