Boxing superstar Anthony Joshua is reportedly set to fight Australia’s Demsey McKean later this year.
Former unified heavyweight champion Joshua is planning a return to the top of the division and is said to have McKean in his sights.
The Briton hasn’t fought since losing a rematch to Oleksandr Usyk last August.

McKean is ranked in the top 10, undefeated in 22 professional fights, with 14 knockouts.
His most recent win was against Patrick Corte in October to win the IBF Intercontinental Heavyweight belt.
Joshua is a bona fide star in the world of boxing, and his fight with the relatively unknown McKeown might be seen as his surprising move toward a return to the top of the heavyweight division.
McKean and Joshua are reportedly close to a stadium match at London’s O2 Arena in April.
Speaking on TalkSport’s Fight Night boxing podcast, journalist Gareth A. Davies said Joshua’s next fight will be an unprecedented match against an Australian.
“He’s an undefeated Australian, and I think he’s going to face Demsey McKean, who’s WBO No. 10 and IBF No. 11,” Davis said.
“It will be a two or three round knockout win for Anthony Joshua. Probably not getting a seat at the O2 Arena.
“Then early in the summer, I think he will fight Dillian White in Joshua White 2…I think he will knock out Dillian White.
“It’s going to be a great build-up. They could sell out Wembley for it or take them to a huge football stadium.
“I think this year will be a great year for him.”
Fight Night podcast co-host Adam Catterall said a fight with McKean was a logical one for Joshua and could help the former champion get back on track.
“There’s nothing wrong with him fighting fighters at McKeown. A lot of people have no idea who he is,” Catarrall said.
“As long as it’s the first quarter of the year, I have no problem with Anthony Joshua doing it for the first strike back.
“I want to meet the old Anthony Joshua. I want to see him be the destruction machine we all fell in love with.
“If it[Joshua vs. McKean]happens, I strongly believe it will happen. Dillian White is perfect for the next fight.”
Joshua will go into the fight as the overwhelming favorite, but McKean is confident he can beat the world’s top heavyweight fighters.
Promoter Eddie Hahn said a fight between Joshua and McKean made sense.
He said: “He’s 22-0 and is in the top 10 in the world. What more do we have to do?
“He hasn’t fought one of the elites yet, but it will happen. You set records, you learn in the game, you build your rankings, and you fight one of elites. It’s a natural next step. am.”
Nicknamed the Tower of Terror, Southpaw hoped to fight Joshua in Gabba, but a fight in Britain is much more likely.
“I think I did[enough to warrant a fight against a top name next time],” McKean said after winning in October.
“It was an early knockout as well. I have to keep Eddie[Hahn]in until then.
“Obviously that would be my first choice, but any of the top players he mentioned.”
A fight between AJ and McKean is looming as Australian boxing’s next major bout after Tim Tsuju’s super-welterweight world title fight was postponed because Jermell Charlo injured his hand.
McKean told International Boxing News that he was “one of the front-runners” to face Joshua next, though Joshua’s preference for fighting orthodox boxers over southpaw boxers is not surprising. , noted that it could interfere with potential matches.
