Richmond, Virginia – Freshman guard after a weekend of tribe personal bests and back-to-back wins Alexa Mikeska Another accolades can be added to her ever-growing list: Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week.

It is the first time Miqueska has won the award and the second conference honor as a W&M player this season.

Against the Hamptons on Thursday night, Miqueska led the green and gold with a career-best 16 points on 6/10 shooting, including a 4/8 from behind the arc. A native of Carlsbad, Calif., who has started every game of his season in the conference, he’s ready against his Pirates.He has six rebounds, four assists, one block, and one also recorded a steal.

Mikeksa once again packed the stat sheet in Sunday’s 80-74 overtime victory in Charleston. She had career highs with seven rebounds and seven assists, while she tallied six points, blocked two shots, and recorded a steal. W&M head coach Erin Dickerson Davis Miqueska said she “played like a veteran” in her come-from-behind victory, and praised her ability to help set up her teammates for big-time shots when it matters most.

Additionally, in all three of his last three games, Mikekusa has set season-highs in minutes played, most recently with 36.th Assists per game in conference (2.7), tied with teammates Riley Casey.

W&M will return to the Kaplan Arena on Friday night for the first of their two-game streak at home.
