First, it was Woj vs. Shams in the NBA.
Now it’s Shefty vs. Rap Sheet. The fight turned out to be the most intense in the NFL in terms of breaking news.
On Tuesday, two NFL officials broke down conflicting reports about the Houston Texans’ hiring of Demeko Lyons and the Denver Broncos’ hiring of Sean Payton.
Who is right and who is wrong?
Let’s find out.
First, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, aka The Rap Sheet, reported that the Broncos attempted to lure the Ryans to Denver on Tuesday ahead of Sean Payton, who is hiring his own head coach.
“can’t believe it” Rapoport tweeted“The Broncos attempted to hire Demeko Lyons again today, but he committed to him again. Texan, the source says. When he agreed to a deal with the Texans, they moved and finalized Sean Payton.”
Coming soon. Adam Shefter, aka Shefty, appeared to attack Peyton and the Broncos.
“The timing of today’s hiring was purely coincidental.” Shefter tweeted“The Broncos had their sights set on Sean Payton and had no contact with Demeko Lyons or his agent this week. Denver was focused on Payton and Houston was focused on the Ryans.”
That said, we tend to lean towards Rapoport’s version of events.
In a way, previous reports from Woody Page of the Denver Gazette and Josina Anderson, an insider at CBS Sports, rap sheets that the Broncos and the Ryans were in fact in direct contact with each other hours before they were hired by the Texans. because it corroborates the report of
But that’s because Shefter has a history of “carrying water” for Peyton.
This isn’t necessarily an attack on Payton or Schefter, but just one example of agents helping tell the story of professional sports through their media connections.
Conspiracy theory or not, none TRUE It is important.
Ryans was the head coach of the Texans and always seems to have been.
Meanwhile, the Broncos are currently mortgaging Payton’s future and trading a 2023 first-round pick, a 2024 second-round pick, and a 2024 third-round pick to the Saints.
Either way, both positions are filled and both futures are set, despite social media controversy.
